Srinagar 07 May (KNO) : Despite restrictions hundreds joined the march led by AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed which started from Magharmal Bagh and proceeded towards civil Secretariat. Protesters were chanting strong slogans seeking end to bloodshed by the forces and unconditional ceasefire between militants and the security forces.

However a heavy contingent of police stopped the march ahead of civil secretariat's main gate and arrested around one hundred protesters including Er. Rasheed, Dr. Bari Nayak, Prince Parvez, Zeeshan Pandith, Gh. Nabi Mir Sheeban Ashie and lodged them in Police station Rajbagh and Karan Nagar. Before being arrested Er. Rasheed while talking to media persons alleged that New Delhi has lost the moral right to call Kashmiris as its own people, as the way Kashmiris are being butchered by men in uniform everywhere, has exposed New Delhi's tall claims. He said "While on one hand New Delhi claims J&K to be its crown but has been bulldozing Kashmiris everyday one way or the other. New Delhi needs to be reminded that Kashmiris are not seeking anything which is unrealistic but are just asking New Delhi to fulfil its long list of promises made from time to time with the people of J&K.

Unless New Delhi doesn't fulfil its promises, it has to be held responsible for every killing irrespective of the fact who kills whom, as in absence of Kashmir dispute the whole bloodshed of death and destruction would never have been taking place". While demanding immediate revocation of SRO 202, Er. Rasheed lashed out at Govt. for making SSA Teachers and clerical staff worse than baggers and said that while Mantries and Babu's have been enjoying without any accountability, common masses find governance completely missing and in fact men in uniform are the only available face of governance, but unfortunately for the wrong reasons . Er. Rasheed appealed Mehbooba Mufti to either know and use her worth and stop misleading New Delhi or must resign from the government.
